Hello! My name is Damaris, and I am currently working as an assistant teacher for a charter school (ages 5-8). As a teenager, I babysat for multiple families. The ages ranged from 6months to 8 years old. Over the last few years, I worked in a food truck (I cook very well!) and a school-age center. At the school-age center, we had children ranging from ages 5-12. I primarily did private tutoring in mathematics, reading, and writing. In addition, my role in the facility involved teaching the children various types of arts. The arts covered include painting, knitting, sewing, acting, and technical theatre. I have an undergraduate degree in Applied Linguistics with a minor in Cultural Anthropology and various completed modules/classes in emotional intelligence and child development. I am fluent in Spanish and English. Mein Deutsch ist nicht gut, but I am slowly learning! I greatly enjoy teaching children about history and art while showing them said topics. For instance, taking a walk by the British Embassy and discuss the London Fire of 1666 or the various baked goods famous in the UK that we can try making. Throughout my studies, I have learned that cultural diversity is enjoyable to explore through food!
